Do you have some left out coal from your BBQ party and you don’t know what to do with? Are you bothered whenever you see it just sitting there and you end up tossing it away? Read this article and you will find new and great uses for coal.
- Did you know that charcoal can lengthen the life of your cut flowers? Put a piece of charcoal in the vase with the water. The coal will suck away the harmful particles from the water and your flowers will stay fresh longer.
- Different foods and ingredients in your fridge can produce different smell that mix up and get into food you don’t want to have a weird smell. Of course, there are refrigerators with air filters but it is silly to buy a new refrigerator just for that. Put a lump of charcoal in your fridge just to get rid of the smells.
- Coal’s freshening qualities also work in wardrobes. If you don’t want your clothes to gather a musty stuffy smell, put few lumps of coal in an open container inside your wardrobe. The coal will suck off the stuffy smells and wont cause allergens like air fresheners do.
- Enhance your soil with charcoals. Put few lumps of coal in the dirt around and under your bushes. Weeds won’t be able to grow well on the ground and the land will remain moist much longer.
- Many indoor plants need alkalized dirt to grow well. Charcoal can really help with alkalizing the soil of your indoor plants. Ground a piece of coal into small pieces and mix it with the soil of your potted orchid.
- Coals suck off dampness and moisture. So put few lumps of coal where you don’t want moisture, like inside your bag of rock salt deicer or inside your toolbox.
