All of us have faced days when you wake up or stay hours at work then find that you have developed some neck pains. All of us also know that these pains can ruin your day.
However, in a survey, it was found that most people who have such pains do not seek treatments for them from doctors. So here are some of the strangest – yet effective – treatments for neck pains:
1- Some herbs have a therapeutic effect in treating neck pains, such as turmeric. Turmeric contains a natural chemical compound called curcumin that was proven to be more effective and longer lasting than regular anti inflammatory drugs like aspirins and ibuprofen.
2- Some types of workout are good for relieving neck pains. Your neck muscles are naturally flexible. So it is no surprise that the reason you feel pain in your neck is that its muscles are not moving enough, which happens if you are setting on a desk for a long time working. Exercises like Pilates or kettlebell are among the most effective therapies for treating neck pains.
3- When you sleep, you tend to cover yourself with a blanket from the chest or the shoulder to your feet. This means that your neck is exposed for a long time and might become cold. When that happens your neck muscles contract to generate heat which leads to neck pains. So if this is the case, wrap a scarf around your neck or wear a turtleneck top jumper when you sleep.
4- Some researches have come to the result that your diet is what causes you neck pains. High amounts of sugar can lead to neck pains so lessen your sugar intake as much as possible. Some foods have natural anti-inflammatory properties that help with relieving neck pains, like omega 3 fatty acids found in fish, walnuts and flaxseed oil.
