10. Trade secrets
It is fair to say that these codes maintain the supremacy of certain powerful companies in the market around the world. Not only that as according to this ‘fair’ right, people around the globe will never know what they are eating, drinking or applying on their skins. Hence, there would come huge scandals that will talk about the multiple hazards of the chemicals inside these products every now and then. But what they really fear is, of course, losing their market share to competition and to supply and demand.
9. Oil deposits
Common people are never exposed to such huge pieces of information. You, most probably, have to be a drug tycoon or someone with a really heavy pocket to get to something like that. However, every now and then there will appear a story of a simple family who got wealthy yet was not knowledgeable enough to think big, and it finally diminshes by the plans of the same ‘tycoon’ or ‘heavy pocket’.
All sorts of information held by the different governments. The degree of secrecy of these information differs from country to another according to the application of the common laws of accountability. Again, every now and then something like Wikileaks or the Pentagon papers will come by and surprise us all.
7. Insider information
This is, beyond doubt, about obtaining information in an illegal way that would lead to your profit. Remember Martha Stewart? and her case? This has at some point put her straight in jail for wanting to super maximise her profits by illegal means. Stay safe, do not try this. 😀
6. Banking records
Banking accounts and records are supposed to be, well, secret. This is exactly why it is not easy to discover illegal acts till very late. Having the banking details of a person makes him vulnerable to any outside plans of life corruption. This is why these information are of great confidentiality unless you are accused of money laundering or some uneasy dirty financial activity, then you will be audited to the last penny.
5. Medical records
Doctor-patient confidentiality; this is simply the sum of all there is to say about it as it is sometimes hazardous to certain to unfold their secret illnesses in public lest it should make them vulnerable. Not only vulnerability is it that you might fear, but also ‘it is personal’. However, until you are endangering others you are on your own. Yet this rule can be twisted, can’t it?
4. Nuclear secrets
Any piece of information that says whether a country does have nuclear weapons or not, their designs, their targets. It is the unrelenting race of armament and question of power! For example, you are not supposed to learn how to to create an atomic bomb or how to get your supplies.
3. Military secrets
The military is a red line everywhere, thus anything that would jeopardise a war, troops or any inside secret is a secret. Armament secrets, locations, techniques and strategies are totally off-limit as far as the public is concerned.
2. Court secrets
Anything that might swing the jury from left to right is a secret and so is any proceedings in a trial. These information are of top confidentiality as they affect a lot of lives. The public will not have access to information concerning either an ongoing investigation or an ongoing trial to keep the leaks minimised to the last point and so is any chance of harm.
Anything that is top- secret, secret, confidential or restricted encloses information that you are not supposed to know. It is maybe some negotiating tactic, or some military secret or the likes. This multilayered system of secrecy belies a group of entrusted authorities on the filed information. This is how things are supposed to be to keep things in order, however, if there is any corrupt chain in such a circle it will be a big failure!
