Imagine yourself walking into your work building and you are greeted with nice hellos and smiles from your co- workers, you will feel then like a rock star. Everyone shakes your hand and pats on your back; everyone is your friend and loves you including your boss.
If you cannot imagine this could possibly happen to you, do not get upset and remember that social skills are completely learnable like any skills, and with little practice you could have a thriving social life. Likeable people share several traits, and if you cultivate them, you will be a likeable person spending weekends with friends and being surrounded by co- workers that respect and love you.
Likeable persons do not experience insecurity. When they meet someone for the first time, they are sure they would get along perfectly. You need to start from a positive place even with faking your confidence because this will aid in putting your insecurities at ease.
Likeable people never pretend to be what they are not. They admit it when they do not know something, and when they do not agree to any statement or opinion said by anyone, they express what they think honestly; they do not grin and pretend accepting.
Likeable persons do not judge. People can sense it when you are judgmental even if you hide your negative feelings behind your smile. People around you can feel your poor opinion of them.
The philosophy of likeable persons is that everyone is entitled to their choices and opinions – as long as no one gets hurt. They never pass judgments on others or seeing them as good or bad. Another trait for likeable people is that they are positive in a world filled with negativity, which makes them a pleasure to talk to.
