5 Symptoms That Tell You That You Have Skin Cancer

....................................................................................

Did you know that the most common type of cancer is skin cancer? And it is cancer, the life threatening illness, not something you can cure with antifungal and antimicrobial ointments. The good news is that you can treat it if you discover it as early as possible. Therefore, it is important to recognize the symptoms of skin cancer, and some of which are:

1- Scaly skin can be a symptom of cancer. However you need to differentiate between scaly skin which is a symptom of eczema or dry skin, and scaly skin which is a sign of cancer. Eczema and dry skin can be treated with moisturizers and topical treatments while cancer CANNOT.

2- Pimples that won’t go away with time or care can be a sign of skin cancer. You know that you should not pop pimples since they will disappear after some time. However if you have a weird translucent pimple that won’t go away after a week of treatment, then consult a dermatologist.

3- Moles on your skin are sometimes a sign of cancer. Check any moles you have. Are they larger than what they used to be few months ago? Are they darker? What about the edges? Are they jagged? Do they hurt? Are they asymmetrical when cut in half?

4- If you have a bruise on your feet that you don’t know where you have got them from or why they won’t heel, then ask a dermatologist.

5- Strange black streaks that appear under your finger nails or on your toes can be a sign of cancer as well.

Naturally, I am not telling you to run to the doctor as soon as you see one of these symptoms. However, if you have three or more grouped together (especially the mole symptom) then you need to consult a doctor quickly.
