Affirmations are positive statements describing a desired goal; they are often repeated till they get impressed on the subconscious mind. This process leads the subconscious mind to work and strive to make the affirmations come true. When people repeat in their minds negative words and statement regarding events and situations in their lives, they consequently create undesirable situations.
It is the way we use words that determines whether to build or destroy, to bring good or harmful results. Your subconscious mind attracts events and situations into your life that correspond what you keep saying, so why not repeat positive statements to get positive results.
Imagine you are in a swimming pool with your friends who swim 15 rounds, something you have never done before, and you want to do the same to win their respect. You start swimming repeating in your mind “I can do it”.
Doing this, you are repeating positive affirmations to make yourself believe that you can complete the fifteen rounds. On the other hand, you may repeat “I cannot do this, it is too hard for me”. Consequently, you lose motivation, faith and ambition, thus bringing about what you said to yourself.
You should pay attention to the words you repeat in your mind to avoid the negative statements such as “I am too lazy to do this”, “I am going to fail”, “I lack inner strength”. When you discover you repeat these or similar words, replace them immediately with positive ones. Your thoughts and words program your mind in the same way commands program a computer.
Repeated affirmations make your mind focus on your goal; you program your subconscious mind according to your will. You influence your subconscious mind by using this process consciously, and in turn it transforms your behavior, habits and attitude and even remold your life.
