Admirers of wildlife would find the best of it in natural habitats provided to animals and plants in the national parks of Kenya. Tourists head to Kenya to participate in the most affordable, yet unique Safaris. Some of the most popular national parks in Kenya are:

Aberdare National Park

This Kenyan national park covers an interesting landscape in Nyandarua District. Aberdare National Park was created in 1950 to protect the mountains and the wildlife in their perimeter. The national park homes lots of species including endangered ones like the black rhinos whose population in Aberdare is the second largest. Other noticeable species include African lions, baboons, monkeys, elephants, antelopes, leopards and more than 250 bird species. The climate in Aberdare is determined by the altitude one is staying at. It is usually misty and rainy year-round. The Aberdare National Park offers spectacular accommodations like the Treetops tree-house lodge and the Ark.

Lake Nakuru National Park

The name of this national park is after the lake located in the Nakuru district of the Rift Valley Province in central Kenya. This region is famous for having numerous flocks of flamingos that take pleasure in the alkaline waters of the shallow soda Nakuru lake. The ecosystem surrounding the lake is composed of wooded and bushy grasslands and supports a variety of species like the white rhinoceros, buffaloes and diverse terrestrial birds. A third of the park’s area is usually covered by the lake.

Mount Kenya National Park

At 5199 meters, Mt Kenya is Africa’s second highest mountain. Visitors of this park can take a glimpse at amazing scenery by trekking to peaks of the mountain. Batian and Nelion are the highest points and aren’t available to everyone to reach because they need special gear and skill. On the other hand, people are allowed to reach for the third highest point, Lenana. The highlights of a visit to Mount Kenya National Park would be checking out a cross section of the trails, visiting the wonderful cave formation called the Temple, summiting Pt Lenana, and perhaps encounter wildlife on your way.
