Summer time is relaxation time. Chilling by the beach and tanning season. Along with all the luxury comes the troubles of harmful UV rays, humidity and salty water that cause injurious effects to our hair and skin. On the bright side, there are a number of natural remedies to prevent the damage and enjoy your favorite season.
Oily Skin : Summer or winter, you always need to keep your skin moisturized. However, during the summer, always switch to a lighter moisturizer. Keeping blotting tissues on the go is another easy trick strong enough to soak up oil and perspiration.
Sunburns : Once you notice mild sunburns, you need to totally avoid the sun, take a cool bath, drink plenty of water and moisturize your skin with lotion or aloe vera gel. Make sure to see a doctor if you feel sick.
Ingrown Hair : In order to avoid ingrown hair caused by shaving, make sure to lubricate the area well then shave in the direction of hair growth. Make sure the razor isn’t dull. When you’re done, apply a cold compress. Ingrown hair can be removed by gently scrubbing a cloth or toothbrush with soap in a circular motion. You may also use salt or sugar in the same manner.
Dry Frizzy Hair : The best way to protect your hair from the harsh sun and salty water is by constantly nourishing your hair. A leave in conditioner and a vitamin rich hair mask will protect your hair.
Lip-gloss is Dangerous : If you think lip-gloss protects your lips from sunburn, you are completely wrong. Lip-gloss does far more damage increasing the possibility of lip cancer, a harsh form of skin cancer. Make sure to protect your lips during the summer with lip sunscreen or simply lip palm containing SPF. You can also wear it beneath your usual lipstick.
