Turmeric has been used since ancient times. It is that fragrant herb that gives curry its bright yellow color. However, it is not just fragrant or delicious, but extremely healthy as well. It would be a shame not to make use of its health benefits, and therefore, I have written some great recipes that use it.
1- You don’t need pricy treatments to get rid of foot fungus and bacteria. Just mix some powdered turmeric with water to make a runny paste and rub your feet and toes with it. For better results, wear a plastic bag on your feet then socks on them.
2- Turmeric can ease arthritis pains, so mix it with your food. For a really quick effective cure for arthritis, mix a spoon and a half with a cup of milk and heat it. When it starts to boil, turn off the fire and drink it.
3- Turmeric is an effective treatment for many skin problems. Here is a good recipe for acne that uses turmeric: Make a night mask of a spoonful of milk with some turmeric and rub your skin with it. Wash it off in the morning.
4- Turmeric can help you a lot with the pain of “that time of the month”. The same recipe for arthritis applies here. A spoon and a half of Turmeric boiled with a glass of milk.
5- I have just recently read that turmeric aids you in weight loss. I have been trying this and my friends have noticed that I have lost weight recently and they rushed to ask me what miracle pills am I on! Just boil half a spoon of turmeric with a glass of water until it turns red then let it cool and drink it.
6- Turmeric is great for ulcer pains, stomach acidity and overall digestion problems. Mix a spoon of it with a glass of water, then boil it and drink it.
7- Turmeric powder has great antibacterial and antiviral properties. So, if you happen to have a cut in your fingers while preparing food, look in the pantry instead of the bathroom cabinet. Just cover the cut with turmeric powder.
